Indians of the Week for week ending April 3

The Indians of the Week are chosen by coaches, and recognize student-athletes that play sports that are currently in season. This week's Indians of the Week (for the week of March 29-April 3) include Macy Murdock and Simeon Respress for high school. PAST INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Macy Murdock - Track & Field

High School Girl

Junior Macy Murdock won the high jump, 100m hurdles, and 300m hurdles and ran the fastest 4x4 leg at the Providence Christian Easter meet to lead TFS to a second-place overall finish.  She followed that up with a second-place 400m hurdles and personal record in the shorter hurdle race at the 55 school GA Spring Break Challenge at Marietta HS.  She continues to improve, is highly coachable and motivated, and consistently leads by example!  She is pursuing her desire to compete collegiately.  In fact, she is the one who initiated hurdling as a possible event; her independence and growing confidence serve her and the team well!

Simeon Respress - Track & Field

High School Boy

Senior Simeon Respress had a solid week of competition.  He won the high jump and long jump at the Providence Christian Easter meet, the latter breaking a 10-year-old record while literally nearly leaping out of the pit.  Two days later, he placed second in both of those events at the 53 school GA Spring Break Challenge at Marietta HS and also set an open 400m personal record.  Simeon has overcome much physical adversity in his young life, yet seeks to thrive in competition.  He continually develops mental tenacity life lessons while pursuing his dream of competing in college.
