TFS coaches name Indians of the Week
Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for January 16-21.
Sanson Navarrete
VARSITY BOY
Senior Sanson Navarrete of Demorest has been named a TFS Indian of the Week by varsity basketball coach Jim Van Hooser. “Sanson had 14 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in leading his team to two wins last week,” Van Hooser said. “His grit and determination have been a huge factor in the team’s success.” With the wins the TFS varsity boys are now 19-1 (9-1 in region play) for the season.
Mali Danavall
VARSITY GIRL
Varsity girls basketball coach Tom Tilley selected sophomore Mali Danavall of Jonesboro as an Indian of the Week. “Mali accumulated 90 total hustle points in a huge Region 8A win at Towns County,” Tilley said. “Mali’s play and leadership were instrumental in our win. Her height, work ethic, athleticism and coachability are priceless and valuable to our team’s success.”
Meredith Hill
MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL
Seventh grader Meredith Hill of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Week by middle school cheering coach Jenny Richardson. “Meredith makes every effort to bring energy and an overall attitude of focus and dedication to our squad,” Richardson said. “She really praises her teammates, and I’m so proud of her.”
Cain Chitwood
MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY
Eighth grader Cain Chitwood of Lavonia was named an Indian of the Week by swim coach Annette Cochran. “Cain has been a great addition to the middle school swim team,” Cochran said. “He placed third in the 100-yard freestyle dropping 10 seconds from his previous best. He also dropped 4.5 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle earning him a second place finish.”
