MS Indians take 3-0 win at Lumpkin
The MS Indians, playing for a third time this week, took a 3-0 win at Lumpkin on Thursday.
It was 2-0 in the first half after an own goal from a JT Head corner kick. Head later assisted to Alex Jelly, who scored for the 2-0 advantage. Head powered in a PK in the second half. Lucas Woodland made several key stops to preserve the clean sheet.
"Very proud of the boys resolve to help Lucas get a clean sheet today," says coach Travis Mullis. "Overall, we possessed the ball very well today. I would have preferred more finishes with the number of chances we had, but it'll be something else to work on. Tuesday's defeat showed us several areas of weakness and the boys responded positively to the changes we addressed yesterday. Interesting week for the team with a tie, a loss, and a win."
The Indians are now 2-1-1 overall on the season, and return to action on March 21 at Athens Academy.
