Academic Support
The mission of Tallulah Falls School is to prepare each student to thrive in life by elevating character and intellect in a challenging and diverse college preparatory environment.
The school’s mission is woven into every area – academics, athletics, fine arts, clubs, and social events. TFS students experience a true college preparatory environment through our challenging academic program. Tallulah Falls School partners with local colleges and universities to offer dual enrollment courses taught on our campus. Additionally, several Advanced Placement courses are offered.
We are committed to ensuring every student has the opportunity to attend college. Our dedicated counselors guide students through the entire college application process, paying particular attention to the unique needs of our international students. We are here to help students find the best fit for their future success.
"The teachers at this school are knowledgeable and patient. Whether it is an academic problem or a personal problem, they are always willing to help students and provide guidance and support. I feel very fortunate and satisfied with this educational environment and faculty.” -Jason Dong (Beijing, China)
TUTORIALS
Our teachers are available to students daily during morning and afternoon tutorials and office hours during the school week. Tutorials and office hours give students 30 minutes before, during, and after school to receive the extra help they need from our supportive teachers.
“I always come to Ms. Harris to help me with math. I am taking college calculus, and she helps me. All the teachers are here for us. I always visit them before class, after school, or during office hours. They are so patient and help me to gain a better understanding.” -Maria Valentina Camargo (Panama City, Panama)
LEARNING CENTER
The Learning Center is designed to support our students’ academic success. Students are invited to work with our learning center staff on a more individualized level, review concepts, or adjust how they study effectively.
Helping international students acclimate to their new academic environment is crucial, and we are here to support them. We provide them with valuable tools to build good study habits and develop confidence in managing their academic work.
“In the Learning Center, all accomplishments, both large and small, are worth recognition. Students ring the 'victory bell' when they share something positive to celebrate...and this looks different for each student, but any progress is worth celebrating in my eyes!” -Haley Cantrell (Learning Center Coordinator)
PEER SUPPORT
Peer tutors are selected from the National Honors Society. The NHS students volunteer and use their time for service hours, creating a win-win for our students who need academic support, and our NHS students can offer it.
RESIDENTIAL STUDY LIFE
Our dorms hold a mandatory study time each evening, Sunday through Thursday. On Sunday evenings, boarding students love to visit our Study Cafe, where they can study together.
