Broome, Thomson finish 8th at Georgia Bass Nation State Classic

The bass fishing team of DJ Broome and Jack Thomson truly saved their best for last, placing 8th at the 2023-24 Georgia Bass Nation State Classic this past weekend.

TFS was in the 99 position out of 111 teams going into the first day of the tournament. Broome quickly reeled in a 5-pound bass at the first stop. At the next stop, he had a couple more while Thomson added two. The duo sat in 3rd place at 14.85 lbs after the opening day.

The second day saw TFS take out near the front. After no success on the first stop, the second saw Thomson haul in a pair of solid fish and Broome another. Broome got another in a third stop, and going back to their key spot, Thomson finished off the 5-fish limit of 11.81.

The result was an 8th-place finish for Broome and Thomson, which represents the best showing for TFS Bass Fishing at state since the 2019-20 season when Marshall Williams and Thomas Harris also placed 8th.
