MS Lady Indians rally past Rabun County
The MS volleyball teams hosted Rabun County on Wednesday, and the A-Team and B-Team both came away with wins.
The A-Team pulled out a huge comeback after dropping the first set 22-25.
"Rabun took advantage of poor serving from us," says coach Matt Crotta. "We didn't give up and played a much better second set. TFS gave everyone a taste of their potential."
The result was a 25-13 score to knot the match at a set apiece. TFS ran away with the match with a 15-6 deciding set.
Becca Roberts had a huge night with three aces and a season-high 11 kills. Emmalyn Whisnant had seven kills and four aces, and Tori Crotta had eight kills, four aces, and a block. McKenzie McCoy had three aces.
The B-Team got in the win column for the first time in four tries, taking a straight-set win of 27-25, 25-17.
Bella Sun continued to put up a lot of points with eight aces. Kourtney Hunter had five, including three to help the team come back from a deficit and go ahead.
Maelyn Carlyle and Shelby Simmons each had three aces, while Chloe McCallister had two and Ruby Shaw recorded her first ace of the season. Hunter had a great attacking night with five kills. Sun and Charlie Ferguson each had a kill as well.
The A-Team moves to 3-1 on the season, while the B-Team is now 1-2-1.
