Indians grab win from Loganville Christian
CHAZ MULLIS - The varsity Indians, ranked #10 in Class 1A Private, added another win to their season on Friday night against Loganville Christian. The team put up an impressive 62 points in their first match of 2021.
The first quarter helped the Indians ease back into competition, throwing up 18 points to counter Loganville's 8. Gabe Keene took up the most points with 4 during the first. The second quarter ended with the Indians rounding up 19 more points, leaving the first half at 35-15. Simeon Respress put up multiple 3-pointers during this quarter, clocking in at 9 points. The Indians maintained their lead until the buzzer, ending at 62-25.
Respress claimed the most scores with 16 points during the matchup. Anfernee Hanna contributed 10 points to the total, while Julian Gober tacked on 7 points, including an impressive dunk in the third quarter.
The varsity squad is now 7-2 in their season, and will play against Prince Avenue on Saturday at home.
