JV sweeps Lakeview, Stephens tri-match

The JV Lady Indians picked up a couple of wins on Thursday to pull back to .500 overall, and notched a key region win in the process. Playing at home, TFS beat Lakeview in straight sets and earned a 3-set win against Stephens County.

In the Lakeview match, a 2-0 win, Tallulah Falls won 25-15, 25-18. It was a bit of a revenge match, as the Lions won the previous meeting on their own court. Stella Bowman had four aces, two kills, and a block, and Finlee Ridlehoover added three aces and a kill. Others who contributed heavily included Emma Whisnant (one ace, three kills), Becca Roberts (four aces), and the trio of Madison Williams, Masa Ivancevic, and Tori Crotta, who each came away with two kills.

Against Stephens County, the home Lady Indians won 25-15 in the opening set. Stephens knotted it up with an 18-25 second set before TFS won in a 15-7 decisive third set.

Keely Franks, Roberts, and Whisnant each had four aces. Whisnant and Bowman had three kills apiece, and Williams had two kills and two blocks.

The girls are now 10-10 overall on the season and 3-3 in region play.
