Facilities

TFS strives for greatness in athletics, and to that end, the Tribe’s athletic programs play on/in state-of-the-art facilities. Listed are the facilities by sport (alphabetical order). TFS Campus Map

BASEBALL

The Higgins Baseball Complex houses two baseball fields. The high school field, built in the mid-1990s, consists of a varsity/JV field, measuring 350 feet to straightaway centerfield, and 305 feet down the left-field line, and 290 feet down the right-field line. The gaps measure 365 feet in the gaps, and beyond the fence from the center to right field is a high rock staircase, providing a breath-taking view from the stands. The Higgins Baseball Complex includes an indoor practice/hitting facility, press box, concession stand, and restrooms. The middle school baseball field, built in 2020, is located beyond the hitting facility. Bleacher seating is available at the high school and middle school field. In 2021, the high school field added brand new state-of-the-art LED lighting.


BASKETBALL

The basketball programs for all levels, both boys and girls, play their home games in the Student Activity Center located on the middle school campus. The SAC became the site for most home games as of 2016, and features a lobby with a concession stand and restrooms, as well as an indoor track above the court and a horizontal rock wall. The area above the court also includes weight training/conditioning areas and equipment.

There are additionally two practice gyms located on the Upper School campus, both located in the Circle Building. The upper gym, called the Dorman Gymnasium, is the former home of basketball and volleyball games but is now used as the JV volleyball court for games and as a practice facility, as is the lower-level gym in the same building.  


CROSS COUNTRY

TFS has its own cross country course, which annually holds meets that draw in numerous schools and thousands of runners from around the state. The course, located on the middle school side of Tallulah Falls School’s campus, was redesigned in 2015 to be used for 5K, 3K (middle school), and 1-mile races.


EQUESTRIAN

The Dinah C. Peevy Equestrian Center, located on the middle school side of the TFS campus, is home to the Equestrian Club. The center features stalls for horses and sits on a great number of acres of land.


GOLF

While the golf programs play at various courses around the area, their designated home course is at The Orchard in nearby Clarkesville. The TFS Golf Performance Lab, constructed in 2019, is located in the bottom level of the Evans Student Center (Upper School campus), and includes a video analysis system, golf simulator, launch monitor, and indoor putting green. This gives TFS golfers ample opportunities to work on their game to prepare for any course they play on.


PRECISION RIFLE

The TFS precision rifle program has an indoor rifle range, located on the bottom level of Federation Hall on the Upper School’s campus. In 2020, TFS added ten new electronic targets to the range, helping precision rifle participants hone their visual and shooting skills.


SOCCER

The soccer programs practice and play home games on the Upper School’s campus at the Amick Athletic Field, built in 1955 and named after former football coach Hervey Amick, dedicated in 2015. The regulation soccer field has stadium seating and has a newly-renovated field house for athletes. In 2021, the field added brand new state-of-the-art LED lighting.


SWIM

The TFS Natatorium is home to the Tallulah Falls School swim team and is newly constructed, opening in late 2020. The state-of-the-art facility houses a 10-lane competition pool and seats up to 240 spectators. 

The natatorium, located on the Upper School campus adjacent to the Larry A. Peevy Academic Complex, is nestled against the backdrop of Cherokee Mountain. The natatorium is also used for PE classes, courses for scuba, boating, and water safety, and recreational use for all TFS community members. MORE ABOUT THE TFS NATATORIUM

TENNIS

The tennis complex is located on the Upper School campus and is nestled between the natatorium and Amick Athletic Field. There are three fenced-in blue double hard-top courts, providing six total courts available for contest use. The courts were newly resurfaced in 2023.


TRACK & FIELD

Track & field programs have a practice facility at the Amick Athletic Field on the Upper School campus. The practice facility has a 120-meter 8-lane straightaway track, multi-lane jumps pit, six-shot put rings, discus cage, four discus circles, and a newly-renovated field house.


VOLLEYBALL

The varsity volleyball program plays its home games in the Student Activity Center located on the middle school campus. The SAC became the site for all home games as of 2016, and features a lobby with a concession stand and restrooms, as well as an indoor track above the court and a horizontal rock wall. The area above the court also includes a fitness area with weight training and cardio equipment.

 

The JV team plays its home games in the Dorman Gymnasium, located in the Circle Building on the Upper Campus.


PERFORMANCE FITNESS CENTER

There are two sites for weight rooms and conditioning/fitness at Tallulah Falls School. On the Upper School campus inside the lower level of Evans Student Center is the newly renovated (2019) Sports Fitness Center for conditioning and training/fitness. This features all new equipment for aerobics, weight training, resistance training, and more. At the Student Activity Center on the middle school campus is another such area, located above the basketball/volleyball court, and includes an indoor track and horizontal rock wall.
