Faculty members at the Tallulah Falls School middle school named six students as students of the month for August.
The fifth-grade student of the month for August is Wyatt Dorsey of Cleveland. “Wyatt was chosen because he works so hard in class and eagerly contributes to conversations,” said Chrissy Van Hooser, fifth grade math teacher. “He is funny and positive.”
The sixth-grade student of the month for August is Zachary Carringer of Toccoa. “Zachary does exceptional work in his academic classes,” said sixth-grade math teacher Annette Shirley. “He is a responsible student who leads by example by displaying a positive attitude and a good work ethic.”
The seventh-grade students of the month are Reilly Chatman of Toccoa and Reese Wilson of Alto. Chatman was chosen for his responsibility and positive attitude. “Although new to TFS, Reilly has quickly made friends and earned both his teachers’ and his classmates’ respect,” said Kim McClurg, seventh grade English teacher. “He is conscientious, hard-working and kind both in the classroom and on the soccer field.”
“Reese Wilson has quickly established herself as a leader with great initiative,” said McClurg. “During August, Reese was assigned a duty in the dining hall and performed her obligations with spirit and tenacity. She is also incredibly conscientious in both the classroom and on the volleyball court.”
The eighth-grade students of the month for August are Yixuan (Linda) Wang of China and Benjamin Okoronkwo of Euless, Texas. The eighth-grade teachers at TFS selected Wang and Okoronkwo for their “commitment to creating a great learning environment.”
