TFS names middle school Students of the Month for February

Faculty members at the Tallulah Falls School middle school have selected four students as their students of the month for February.

The fifth-grade student of the month is Walker Wright of Clayton. “Walker was chosen because is always a good friend to his classmates,” said Chrissy Van Hooser, fifth-grade math teacher. “Walker has a great sense of humor and is very enjoyable to have in class.”

The sixth-grade student of the month is Landry Carnes of Demorest. “Landry is self-motivated, on task and focused on academics,” said sixth-grade math teacher Annette Shirley. “She is also hard-working, kind, pleasant and a team player when working on group projects with other students.”

Two seventh grade students received student of the month honors. The first is Annabelle Jackson of Alto. “Annabelle is a sweet and dependable seventh grader who would do anything to help out a classmate,” said Kim McClurg, seventh grade English teacher. “She is responsible, respectful, reliable and appreciates an academic challenge. She is also an important contributor to the middle school tennis team. Annabelle is extremely creative and her artistic talents are often noted by both her peers and her teachers.”

The second seventh-grade middle school student of the month is Jake Wehrstein of Demorest. “Jake is a quiet leader whose efforts in the classroom do not go unnoticed,” McClurg said. “He is an extremely good listener and contributes positively and wisely to class discussions. Jake was a manager for the basketball team this year and currently runs track. He is conscientious, respectful, and sincere, and he works hard to be consistent both academically and athletically.
