“Lizzy has become a very strong left defender for the middle school team. She has made the starting lineup and will be very difficult for opposing teams to get past,” Chesser said. “She listens intently, follows coaching directions well, and is a trustworthy teammate on the field. Lizzy will be a huge asset moving forward.”

Eighth-grader Blair Moore of Demorest was named an Indian of the Week by middle school track & field coach Scott Neal.
“Blair placed second in the high jump, fourth in the 200m and fourth in the 400m, in addition to running both relays at the Riverside Military Academy Indoor Experience,” Neal said. “Blair’s high jump performance was especially exciting because parts of his technique have improved so much since last year. Blair is also a diligent and focused athlete in practice and preparation and a positive teammate”.”

Freshman Denika Lightbourne of the Bahamas was named an Indian of the Week by varsity basketball coach Brandy Corbett.
“Danika was a key player in the win against Paideia. She was heavily guarded throughout the contest and although she displayed frustration at times, she was able to regroup and hit the shot to tie the game,” Corbett said. “We are so proud of the consistent improvement that Denika continues to make each competition.”

Senior Zach Corwin of Baldwin was named an Indian of the Week by varsity baseball coach Mark Wilcox.
“Zach has had a great defensive start to this year’s baseball season,” Wilcox said. “He has made numerous great plays at center field and has been a real team leader for the baseball team by being a great example with his verbal encouragement and positive attitude.”
