Indians of the Week: November 14-19
TFS has named the Indian of the Week for the week of November 14-19. This week's selections are Denika Lightbourne and Anfernee Hanna for high school, and LB Kafsky and Brian Neely, Jr. for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK
Denika Lightbourne - Basketball
Denika Lightbourne has had a strong start to the season with her offensive and defensive play. She has scored 20+ points in her first two games of the season most recently pouring in 24 pts this past Saturday in the Jefferson HS holiday tournament against Denmark HS. Even with her strong offensive play, she has continued to play unselfish basketball by getting her teammates involved and leading the team to play as a unit, and enhancing the skills and play of her teammates. -coach Lowell Hamilton
Anfernee Hanna - Basketball
Anfernee Hanna helped TFS move past Marietta in the first round of the Jefferson EMC tournament last Saturday. Anfernee led both teams with 30 points and 14 rebounds. -coach Cody Coleman
LB Kafsky - Basketball
In the three games this week, L.B. tallied up 29 points and 34 rebounds. So far she has shown great leadership and is working hard at each practice to better her game. Her teammates follow her and really look to get her the ball during the game. -coach Tykia Thompson
Brian Neely, Jr. - Basketball
In two games of action this past week, Brian had a 15-point outing at Highlands, and then followed it up against last year's Tri-State Champions, Towns County, with 19 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 assists. Brian has been a solidified leader for the A-team so far early in the season, always looking to push his teammates to get better. Everyone gathers around him because of his personality. -coach Nathan Stanley
