The annual Christmas door decorating contest was sponsored by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs-Georgia and coordinated by Martha Lee Sherman, GFWC-GA State TFS Chairman, and Elizabeth Wells, TFS Trustee. Stone Mountain Woman’s Club members, Shari Carter, Barbara Luton and Nelda Lunsford, judged the door decorating competition.
Winners of the door decorating contest were announced, and prizes were presented by Sherman. "Judging the door decorating contest was especially difficult this year due to all of the creative entries at the upper and middle school," said Sherman. The winning door for the middle school went to Sonya Chesser’s door, “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree,” while Terri Bogan’s upper school family group took first place with their door – “Gone to the Beach.”
Additionally, Sherman recognized the varsity volleyball team on behalf of the GFWC for their recent state championship. “We want to express our excitement for what you did,” said Sherman. “We are so proud of you.” The combined upper and middle school chorus surprised the school with a Christmas carol sing-along at the conclusion of the assembly.
