Indians of the Month: December 2022

TFS has named the Indians of the Month for December 2022. This month's selections are Breelyn Wood and Henry Rickman for high school, and Handley James and Micah Smith for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE MONTH

Breelyn Wood - Basketball

Breelyn Wood has shot over 50% from the field in the last five games and has consistently rebounded the ball well for the Lady Indians. She has improved in her overall skill set of rebounding, scoring, assists, and steals. Bree is athletic and long and can do a lot of things at an above-average level and as she does no doubt we will continue to get better throughout the season as a team. -coach Lowell Hamilton

Henry Rickman - Swimming

Boys IOM is Henry Rickman. Henry had two fantastic meets in the month of December. He swam to three individual PRs during December, including breaking the minute mark in the 100 yard butterfly. A great accomplishment! Henry was part of the quartet that qualified for the GHSA state meet in the 200 yard freestyle relay on 12/17 at UGA. Rickman also consistently pushes himself to be a great swimmer and teammate. He holds his teammates accountable to make good choices in the pool and out. -coach Rachel Nichols

Handley James - Basketball

The shooting guard has netted 38 points in the last 4 games for the Lady Indians. Her commitment and dedication to get better at basketball is evident to her teammates. She is a great court leader that gets drills going and encourages others to do their best. Her willingness to do the extra is obvious even down to not ending a drill or practice with a missed shot. -coach Tykia Thompson

Micah Smith - Swimming

Newcomer, Micah Smith has been a positive addition to the team. His positive attitude and drive to improve is top notch. Micah swam to two PRs at the December 3 meet when he dropped 4 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle and swam a PR in the 50 yard backstroke. Micah is respectful to his coaches and peers. We are proud of his progress so far this season. -coach Rachel Nichols
