Ashlyn Yaskiewicz - Volleyball

Ashlyn Yaskiewicz had another great week. And what a great week it was to step up. Our most crucial week yet is playing 4 Area matches three of those against the other two best teams in the region. Ashlyn shined in almost every category. The most significant one for this week was her hitting. Her percentage has gone up lately, and she is adding to the offense incredibly. Her passing improved and was solid and she had the second most aces on the week. And Ashlyn always leads by a great example sacrificing to save a ball at all costs for her team. -coach Matt Heyl

Ziyue Michael Xu - Cross Country

Freshman Ziyue Michael Xu ran his best race and 5K time of the season at the Mountain Invite at Unicoi State Park in Helen. His strategy, focus, and tenacity through discomfort was an example of what a  harrier should demonstrate. New to TFS, cross country, and the amount of mileage necessary to build a foundation for running success, Michael, nevertheless, switched gears, broke through, and set a new standard for himself at this race. The Mountain Invite was a race that developed in him, and resulted in a renewed vigor for being one’s best! So proud of him! -coach Scott Neal

FINLEE RIDLEHOOVER - VOLLEYBALL

Finlee is an amazing setter, server,  and dedicated volleyball player! She shows such great dedication and works hard in school and at practices. She has wonderful integrity and sportsmanship. Due to an injury on the B team, she filled in and was incredible at being a role model and teacher to them, kindly and respectfully telling them if they were in the wrong position and keeping a positive vibe on the court! She is always smiling whether we are winning, tied, or losing. -coach Natasha McEntire

Avery Chatman - Cross Country

Eighth grader Avery Chatman placed 22nd out of 376 middle school runners at the Mountain invitational at Unicoi State Park in Helen, running the 3K course in 12:45.00. Presently, Avery is number eight on the famed TFS Middle School Legacy List for the 3K distance. Though he came out late to cross country, he quickly adapted to the necessary discomfort levels of running at your best, practicing with a drive to be better, and pushing his teammates as an example to carpe diem. -coach Scott Neal
