TFS SAT Scores Above the Local, State, and National Averages

According to data from The College Board and the Georgia Department of Education, SAT scores for students at Tallulah Falls School were above the local, state, and national averages. TFS students posted a total mean score of 1118, 73 points higher than the state average of 1045, 115 points higher than the national average of 1003, and 65 points higher than the next best reported average score in the area.

95% of TFS 2023 graduates took the SAT. They averaged a 572 in evidence-based reading and writing and an average of 456 in math.

“At Tallulah Falls School, we take pride in leading the way, not just in academics but in setting new standards of excellence,” said Dean of Enrollment Services Anthony Cox. “Our SAT scores consistently outshine our local counterparts, a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing an unmatched college preparatory curriculum that propels our students towards a future of boundless success and opportunities.”

The test, administered by The College Board, assesses student readiness for college and is a component of the college admissions process.

TFS strives to create a college readiness environment. They have implemented an SAT At School Day beginning with the class of 2024. “We give all of our students the opportunity to take the test,” said school counselor Michelle Barron. “This allows students to test during the week.”

In addition, seniors meet with the director of college counseling, Dr. Brandy Corbett, who supports our students to help them find the right fit and make the best decisions about their futures.

During the first week of school, seniors attended sessions with counselors to complete essential tasks to set them up for success in the college application process. They reviewed their transcripts and set up common application accounts. “Thinking about the college application process had been a stressful part of heading into my senior year. Everything leads up to this,” said senior Piper Allen. “It was good to get the process started, know we are right on track, and that we have the guidance to get us where we need to go.”

Throughout the year, college and university representatives visit with students on the TFS campus to provide them with information regarding the application process.

The TFS class of 2023 earned more than $7 million in college scholarship offers, and they were accepted to over 150 colleges and universities.
