Rifle team wins fourth match in eight days

The precision rifle team closed the 2023 portion of its schedule with a seventh consecutive win, beating North Forsyth on the road 1152-1065.

Despite being short-handed by three members, TFS still shot a stellar score. Leah Rogers' 290 led the team, while Chloe Erwin and Joseph McGahee both shot a 289 (16x). Kylee Loudermilk fired a 284, and both Ethan Simmons and Mitchell McGahee shot 277.

The match was the fourth in an 8-day span for Tallulah Falls. The team gets a well-earned break before returning to action January 11 against Parkview.

Some athletes will be practicing over the break for the State Junior Olympic Championship in late January, which is the qualifier for the National Junior Olympic Championship in April. Brianna Walter is shooting in Winter Air Gun this weekend at the Olympic Facility in Colorado Springs. This is an Olympic Team qualifying event just like the National Junior Olympic Championship and both matches include NCAA Rifle athletes.

TFS is 7-0 to start the season.
