Season Recap: MS Baseball

It was a season of uncertainty for the MS Indians, as the weather failed to cooperate several times. Despite the schedule constantly in flux, TFS managed to put together three wins against four losses.

The boys opened the season with a 12-1 loss to Elbert County in a double-header, but rebounded to win the next game 7-0. It was nearly a month later before the team got to play again, but they were ready for it. An 18-5 win over Athens Christian was followed by another couple sizable break before taking on Towns County. That double-header yielded two losses to push the record to 2-3.

More than 20 days went by before the next pitch. After taking a third straight loss, the Indians would rebound with a 14-4 win in the season finale at home against Lakeview.

In total, the Indians scored 41 runs with a young roster. 8th-graders Brantley Addison, Garrett Dorsey, Ethan Phasavang, Asa Popham, and Phillip Restino will advance to the high school level (Popham and Dorsey played on JV often this season). 6th-grade newcomers Brody Dampier, Easton Pollock, David Borrow, Noah Randall, and Ryan Davidson all will benefit from their experience moving forward, while Woods Irvin and Fenn NeSmith were the 7th-graders who brought experience back this season.
