Iva Ristic set to play soccer at Salem University
Two-sport athlete Iva Ristic signed to continue her academic and athletic career with Salem University, electing to play soccer at the next level. She’ll play for the Tigers, an NCAA Division-II program.
Ristic, from Serbia, was a key part of the Lady Indians soccer team this season that won the program’s first-ever region title. The midfielder posted two goals and an assist. She was also a member of the Area Championship volleyball team that secured a third straight 30-win season. She was a libero and defensive specialist who had 79 digs, 15 assists, and three kills. Ristic was selected to play in the East-West All-Star Game in soccer.
"Iva is an outstanding athlete with a strong work ethic," says Salem coach Bruce Meche. "Her hard work, skills, and positive attitude make her an excellent addition to Salem University. We eagerly anticipate the impact she'll have on our team and the program's future."
Ristic becomes the 12th TFS student-athlete to sign an LOI this academic year. She is only the second girls soccer player from TFS all-time to go on to the next level. Ristic will be honored with all other senior signees on May 23 at the second annual Next Level Signing Ceremony.
