Offense comes alive as MS girls fight hard against Gainesville
The bats were hot on a Thursday road double-header at Gainesville. Despite losing both ends of the twin billing, the MS Lady Indians scored 10 in the first game and five in the second.
In the first game, it was a 13-10 slugfest. TFS scored five in the first and three in the second to take an 8-2 lead before Gainesville outscored the girls 11-2 the rest of the way. Evie Purcell, Quinlan Flanders, and Kayleigh McEntire each had hits.
Those who knocked in runs included Ruby Sue Anderson, Flanders and Kayleigh McEntire (two RBI apiece), while Emma Davis, Paisley McEntire, Sophia Franklin, and Purcell all had one RBI.
The second game featured a 12-5 loss. The Lady Indians scored four in the third to finish strong, and had hits by Purcell, Flanders, and Kayleigh McEntire. Davis had a pair of RBI, while Purcell, Kayleigh McEntire, and Anderson each had one. The latter posted a pair of strikeouts in the circle.
The Lady Indians are now 1-5 on the season.
