Erwin, Rogers excel in CMP monthly match
In a recent CMP SE Regional Monthly match, TFS was represented by seniors Chloe Erwin and Leah Rogers.
In the first match (Olympic Standing), Rogers shot a 600.9 to place 5th and Erwin finished at 590.9 to come in 7th. The field of competitors included a pair of U.S. Olympic shooters and an Italian Olympic shooter. The top eight athletes compete in the finals and Leah finished in 5th place and Chloe 6th. Gianluca Soldavini from Italy won the Gold.
After shooting over a hundred rounds in standing and finals, the ladies started the three position match. In the qualification round, Erwin shot 587 to come in 1st and Leah shot 581 to finish 2nd. Erwin finished the finals with the Gold Medal and Rogers finished 1.8 points behind with Silver. A Camden County shooter finished 3rd for the Bronze.
The ladies shot over 130 rounds each, including the final in 3P with a day total of over 230 precision shots with over five hours on the line. This made the 8th match in a row that TFS Rifle was on the podium. TFS is well known now and expected to have athletes in the finals.
