TFS Swim opened new year in Hot Chocolate Invitational

 
 

The TFS Swim team had a great showing over the Christmas Break at Habersham Central's Hot Chocolate Invitational. Middle School girls placed 4th out of 8 teams while Middle School boys placed 6th out of 8 teams. Varsity girls placed 8th out of 11 teams while varsity boys placed 10th out of 11 teams. 

Fifteen swimmers achieved personal best swims this past weekend. Olivia Bonner (50 Free), Mia Hamon (50 Free and 50 Breast), Brooke Hayes (50 free), Jasmyn Marshall (50 back), Molly Rickman (100 IM and 50 Free), Emily Smith (50 Free and 100 Breast), Adelaide Tatum (50 Free and 50 Back), Karis Tatum (50 Free), Lily Turpin (50 Back), Emily Wolfe (100 Breast), Nick Edenfield (50 Free), Charlie Harris (50 Free and 100 Free), Henry Rickman (50 Free and 100 Back), Jedd Thomas (50 Free and 50 Back), and Nelson Wilkinson (100 Fly) all swam to personal best times in their noted events. 

Four individual swimmers placed in the top three spots of their respective events. These swimmers include Nelson Wilkinson's 100-yard Butterfly, swimming to a 2nd place finish in the event, and improving his seed time for the GHSA State Swimming Competition. Wilkinson also swam to a 3rd place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. Adelaide Tatum swam to a 3rd place finish in the 50-yard Backstroke. Nick Edenfield swam to a 3rd place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. 

One relay swim that reached the top three finisher slot was the middle school girls 200-yard Freestyle relay composed of Olivia Henderson, Lily Turpin, Molly Rickman, and Mia Hamon. The girls swam to a 3rd place finish in that event.

TFS returns to action on January 8 (middle school) and January 9 (high school) at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center in Clarkesville.
