Junior Miranda Chapa ran 24:34.76 to place 50th of 162 girls in the varsity division at the North GA Championships held at Lamar Murphy Park in Jefferson. Miranda averaged running over 40 miles per week over the summer in addition to healthy strength training and her long hours of training are paying off. Her 5k time was within 23 seconds of her all-time best and was well over three minutes faster than the same time period last season. Miranda is a determined, disciplined, and distinct Team Leader who is a role model of communication, positive outlook, and peer support. She will not be outworked while understanding balance in life. -coach Scott Neal

Freshman Timothy Beck ran a personal record 5k in 23:23.93 to place 20th of 71 in the JV #2 race division in the North GA Cross Country Championships at Lamar Murphy Park in Jefferson on a sizzling August morning. He didn't let the heat get to him because he ran smart, controlling the first portion of the race so he could pass more people along the way and at the end. Timothy is consistent, kind, and committed to his individual training and to the positive principles of the team. He is a role model of showing up, doing what needs to be done with a highly positive attitude, and encouraging others to do their best. -coach Scott Neal

Carsyn Griffis ran the 3200m sweltering course in 16:11.20 to place 46th out of 252 middle school girls at the North GA Championships at Lamar Murphy Park. Carsyn ran the same course 1:49 faster this year than last, a true testament to her mental strength and soulful fortitude. I am quite proud of her tenacity, improvement, and teamness! -coach Scott Neal

Ethan Wheeler placed 7th of 279 middle school boys while running 12:20.58 for the 3200m race at the North GA Championships at Lamar Murphy Park on a muggy morning. Ethan is a true team oriented member who is highly encouraging of others, service oriented, and quite competitive at the same time! -coach Scott Neal
