Indians of the Week for week ending October 23
TFS has named Indians of the Week for the week of October 18-23. This week's selections are Dani Prince and Eli Damron for high school, and Olivia Phillips and Teagan Penland for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK
Dani Prince - Cross Country
HS Girl

Sophomore Dani Prince ran a near course best 5k time to finish as the #4 TFS runner for the day. In addition to her strong performance, Dani's role as Team Leader for the 8th Annual Harrier Harvest XC Classic was truly exceptional; she provided sunflowers for every senior on every team and enlisted teammate Sandra Badia to create a poster that had the logo for every visiting team drawn and senior names written around it - spectacular and authentic! Dani went well beyond basic leadership in creating a significant experience for everyone. She requested the "World's Best Apple Pie" from Susan Chester, award pies from TFS Culinary Arts, and pumpkins and hay bales donated from others lined up visiting team hosts, and coordinated a fall festival within a competitive atmosphere. She certainly set a GREAT standard! -coach Scott Neal
Eli Damron - ESports
HS Boy
I would like to nominate Eli Damron for Indian of the week in Esports. Last week Eli's Rocket League team, Tfs Indians, had one of the most exciting matches of the season. The match was against Grayson Highschool and was a grueling 5 game match. TFS jumped out to a 2 game lead but Grayson battled back and won the next 2 games tying the match. In the final game of the match, Eli Damron led the team to an overtime victory giving Tfs the match 3-2. In all 5 games, Eli lead the team in scoring but also helped his team remain calm and focused during adversity. His demeanor is always the same and his teammates depend on Eli to lead the team. The best thing about Eli is that he is a friend to everyone. He is always smiling and willing to help the entire team with anything. Eli Damron is a valued player for the Tallulah Falls Esports team and has a very bright future. -coach Casey Barron
Olivia Phillips - Basketball
MS Girl
Olivia Phillips is the Indian of the Week for middle school girls basketball. She came to tryouts with little experience. She knew it would be tough, but she stuck it out and worked hard. She also just transitioned from playing singles tennis with no break between seasons. I appreciate that she is outgoing with her new teammates and doesn't beat herself up over mistakes. It was nice to see her improvement over the three day tryout process. I look forward to watching her continue to grow as the season progresses. -coach Jennifer Cox
Teagan Penland - Swimming
MS Boy
The Indian of the Week for Swim is Teagan Penland. Teagan is new to the team this year but has not missed a beat with practices. Teagan gives his all during practice and pushes his teammates to give their all, too. Teagan is very respectful to his peers as well as his coaches. His positive attitude is a welcome addition to the team this season! -coach Rachel Nichols
