Indians of the Week for week ending December 4

TFS has named Indians of the Week for the week of November 29-December 4. This week's selections are Denika Lightbourne and Jerry Sang for high school, and Lupita Carrillo and William NeSmith for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Denika Lightbourne - Basketball

HS Girl

Denika Lightbourne had an incredible performance vs Hayesville last week scoring 27 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 block shots. She also had no fouls and only 1 turnover. This gave Denika an 11.50 VPS (value point system), which is an off-the-charts performance according to the calculation formula for positives against negatives in a game, with 1.0 being average! We are looking forward to Denika continuing to be her best self throughout the rest of this season. -coach Lowell Hamilton

Jerry Sang - ESports

HS Boy

Last week Jerry Sang was a vital part of his Esports League of Legends team advancing to the Elite 8 round of the state playoffs. Jerry has been a consistent player and leader all year. During the playoffs, he has continued to lead the team in kills and be a huge help scheming the opponents. Jerry always has a positive attitude and does not think of himself. He values the team and them winning more than his stats. Jerry Sang is a high-achieving student in the classroom and player of the Tallulah Falls League of Legends Esports team. -coach Casey Barron

Lupita Carrillo - Basketball

MS Girl

Indian of the Week for middle school girls basketball is Lupita Carrillo. Lupita is another first time player at TFS. In the game against Victory Christian, Lupita worked to get on the free throw line and pulled down 8 rebounds. She is a tough competitor and pushes her teammates to be better in practice as well. She's a reliable 6th man coming off the bench and she always has questions about how she can improve her game. What really makes her and IOW is her attitude. I'm so proud of Lupita and look forward to seeing her grow as the season progresses. -coach Jennifer Cox

William NeSmith - Basketball

MS Boy

The Indian of the Week for Middle School Boys Basketball is 7th-grader William NeSmith. William embodies what we look for in student-athletes representing TFS. He always gives maximum effort, he does exactly what is asked of him no matter what, and he is a great teammate, encouraging and energizing the others. In a win over Victory Christian last Thursday, William NeSmith had 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 steals for a near triple-double. He doesn't seek the attention, but his play on the court has a tremendous impact on the game. Congrats to William on a well-deserved honor! -coach Anthony Cox
