Varsity golf splits against Banks County at Chimney Oaks
The Tallulah Falls boys and girls golf teams traveled Tuesday to Chimney Oaks Golf Course in Homer to compete against Banks County.
The boys fell short, but shot a team total of 217, previously beating the best team score this season by 7 strokes. Canon Brooks led the team for the third straight match with a 45.
"I’m proud of the way our boys were able to improve by 6 shots as a team," says coach Hannah Satterfield. "It shows we are making progress and getting better with each competition."
On the girls' side, Mallory Higgins paced the team with a 52 and Hannah Lundy with a 53, as the Lady Indians bested a small Banks County team.
"The match was a great opportunity for the girls to practice and see the course for their upcoming two-day tournament in the beginning of April, 'The Valhalla Cup,'" says Satterfield.
Next up, the Indians will compete on Wednesday against Rabun Gap at Sky Valley.
