McGugan, defense buckles down in second half to slip past Rabun County

The MS Lady Indians took a 3-2 halftime lead, and neither team added to the board in the second half. TFS ran its win streak to five in a row with the win at Rabun County on Wednesday night.

"It was a tough match against a physical team tonight," says coach Laura Higbie.

The teams traded goals early on, as LB Kafsky scored twice and Amari Ernst once to give the girls a 3-2 lead at the break. While the offense was off to a hot start, the defense and goalkeeper Mylah McGugan, played incredible in the second half. McGugan made multiple stops at right back, then covered for the goalie when she was injured. Emily Savage also played well on the back line.

"We had several standouts today," adds Higbie. "Nora Mitchell, Narissa Dawson, and LB Kafsky had great contributions tonight. Amari Ernst's finish on a beautiful cross from LB was also a highlight."

The Lady Indians are now 5-0 on the season.
