Tennis teams split in season-opener at Mt. Vernon

The TFS tennis teams took on Mt. Vernon Tuesday on the road to open the season, leaving with a split as the girls picked up a victory.

The Lady Indians won 4-1, while the Indians fell in straight sets, 5-0.

"It was a really good first match for us tonight," says coach Anthony Cox. "Girls played great, and the boys gained some really valuable experience. That is why we created this schedule, and it will greatly benefit us in the long run. We had some boys playing in their first match, so they performed well. I'm really proud of the way we played and how we handled ourselves. The coach was grateful for our good sportsmanship."

The Lady Indians are 1-0 and the Indians are 0-1.
