MS Lady Indians drop 10-1 season opener

The MS Lady Indians lost 10-1 in the season opener against Lakeview Monday at home.

After the visitors pulled ahead 5-0 by the half, TFS got a well-time goal from Erin Sweat, who scored on an assist from Ida Patterson. Lakeview went on to score five more in the second half.

"We have several players that are brand new to soccer, and today was their first match," says coach Laura Higbie. "I’m proud of them and our returning players for playing hard until the end. Today was a good learning experience and I look forward to using this game as motivation to keep improving."

Among the standouts for Tallulah Falls were Emily Savage, Nora Mitchell, and Karli Blackwell who played a full 60 minutes on the back line. Mitchell saved a breakaway goal in the second half, sprinting all the way across the field to stop an attacking player.

The Lady Indians are 0-1 and return to the pitch March 4 at Summit Charter.
