Prince Avenue overcomes 7-run deficit, using 7-run 7th to shock TFS

Tallulah Falls had a 7-run lead against #1-ranked Prince Avenue Christian, only to see the Wolverines mount a comeback and score seven runs in the seventh in a 12-10 final.

The #4-ranked Indians gave up a pair of runs in the first frame, but Chris Waldron brought home a run on a sac fly. An 8-run second inning for Tallulah Falls featured several highlight plays, including RBI singles by David Dutary, Danny Grant, and Waldron. Diego Gonzalez had a sac fly to make it a 9-2 lead.

That held until the fourth, when Prince Ave got a couple back to set the stage for the comeback. TFS scored a run on an error to take a 10-4 lead in the fifth, but the visitors got a run back in the sixth.

The seventh started with three straight hits and a walk. After generating one out, Tallulah Falls struggled to close it out. The next three batters walked, then had two straight singles, then another walk. By then it was 12-10.

Grant, Chase Pollock, and Dutary each had two hits. Grant and Waldron had two RBI apiece, and Grant and Gonzalez each had two runs. Pollock took the loss in relief. The Indians are now 11-5 on the season.
