Indians' win streak reaches five after DH sweep at Rabun

 
 

The Indians completed the season series sweep of Rabun County with a Friday double-header sweep, taking the opener 8-2 before a 14-3 nightcap. The win streak stands at five after the road wins, and #4-ranked TFS is 17-6 overall and 11-1 in region play.

GAME 1

The Indians took the opener 8-2, which was highlighted by a three-run third and four-run fifth. Diego Gonzalez got it going in the first with an RBI single. He then had a two-run single in the third to pad the lead to 3-0. A Caden Walker run-scoring hit in the fifth made it 5-0 before BJ Carver doubled in a couple later in the frame. 

Meanwhile, Cole Bonitatibus was dealing, as he picked up the win by going six strong innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits and a walk and striking out eight. Gonzalez finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and Carver was 2-for-3 with two RBI.

GAME 2

The bats exploded in the second game with a 14-run outburst against Rabun's three. Tallulah Falls had a 3-spot in the first and had five runs in both the second and third innings, adding one more in the fifth. 

In the second, Danny Grant brought home two on a base hit, and Chase Pollock plated a pair on a single to left. Grant had a 3-run double in the next inning, and Pollock's sac fly made it 13-2. Grant closed the game with a 2-hit, 5-RBI, 3-run output. Pollock was 3-for-3 with three RBI, and Gonzalez had a hit and three runs scored.

Walker picked up the win by going two innings with two unearned runs with a hit, two walks, and four strikeouts. Andrew Skvarka went two strong frames, and Gonzalez finished it out with a scoreless fifth.
