Indians of the Month: May 2024

TFS has named the Indians of the Week for the month of May. This month's selections are Mallory Higgins and Sam Ketch for high school. MORE INDIANS OF THE MONTH

Mallory Higgins - Golf

Mallory scored an 85 on the first day of the state tournament and an 82 on the second day of the state tournament. She was a major factor in pushing TFS into 4th place for the state tournament. -coach Matt Crotta

Sam Ketch - Track & Field

Senior Team Captain Sam Ketch, a "lifer" in TFS track & field, each year had his best performance at the pinnacle state championship. As a sophomore, he was not seeded to get in the finals, yet did and moved up to score with a personal record throw in the shot put. Last year, he saved his best discus throw till the end to place third and break the school record. After signing with Davidson College earlier in the year, Sam broke the school record multiple times during the season, yet again threw his best at the State Championships. His school record heave of 162-10 placed him third and was the 12th best thrower of any classification among all associations during championship weekend. He then placed third in the shot put to score a total of 14 points in the meet, the most of any TFS thrower in history. His career state points of 22 is also historical among Indian throwers. Sam leaves TFS as a legendary thrower and even GREATer teammate! -coach Scott Neal
