Next-Level Indians: Spring Sports Performances

 
 

Former Tallulah Falls School athletes continue to impress long after they finish at the prep level. This spring, several saw significant game action at the college level. FULL LIST OF NEXT LEVEL INDIANS

CHATHAN CLOUATRE ('21) - TOCCOA FALLS COLLEGE BASEBALL

Clouatre finished his college career with a strong season for the Eagles (27-22). The outfielder played in 39 games and batted .368 (46-for-125) with two homeruns, 24 RBI, 42 runs scored, five doubles, a triple, 14 walks, and 13 stolen bases. 

KATY CORBETT ('21) - MERCER BEACH VOLLEYBALL

Corbett was 20-15 this spring for Mercer (17-19), including going 17-8 with teammate Liv Diaz. During Week 5 play, the duo were named Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week.

BRINSON HALL ('21) - TROY UNIVERSITY GOLF

Hall played in two tournaments during the 2023-24 year, but none in the spring. She played six total rounds, averaging 80.5 with a low of 77.

AUBREY HIGGINS ('22) - BERRY COLLEGE BASEBALL

Higgins pitched in three games, starting once for the Vikings (28-14). He carried a 10.38 ERA in 4.1 innings of work.

MAGGIE JACKSON ('21) - WOFFORD COLLEGE GOLF

Jackson played a total of 27 rounds of golf throughout the 2023-24 year in nine tournaments, averaging 76.4 with a low of 70. Her best finish of the season was a 10th-place showing. She posted three top-20 finishes. 

DAVIS JENNINGS ('20) - TOCCOA FALLS COLLEGE BASEBALL

Jennings played in 29 games for the Eagles (27-22), and hit .071 (1-for-14) with a double, RBI, 20 runs scored, and a walk along with two stolen bases. 

GEORGE KETCH ('22) - BERRY COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD

Ketch competed in discus and hammer throw in 2024 for Berry. He set a PR in the latter of 144-8.5 in late March at the Lee University Inv, placing 6th. He also had a 9th-place finish a week prior in the hammer throw. In Discus, he had a season-best 117-2.5, placing 11th at the Rhodes College T&F Inv. During the indoor season in January, he had a 34-3 PR in shot put to place 15th, and had a 47-1 PR in the weight throw, coming in 4th (prior 3rd-place finish) at the Tiger Indoor Inv.

DAVID MEDINA ('22) - MID-ATLANTIC CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY BASEBALL

Medina appeared in five games for the Mustangs (24-18), going 1-for-9 (.111 AVG) with a double and a hit by pitch. The infielder also logged an assist in the field.

FRANKEY MOREE ('23) - BENEDICT COLLEGE BASEBALL

Moree had a great season for the Tigers (14-25), as he hit .375 (36-for-96). He had three homers, 21 RBI, 19 runs, five doubles, one triple, 12 walks, 11 HBP, and swiped 15 bases. The middle infielder also had an .893 fielding percentage, logging 60 assists and 40 putouts, helping turn nine double plays.

MACY MURDOCK ('22) - BERRY COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD

Murdock had a phenomenal season for Berry. She set PRs in the 200 (26.51), 400 (59.10), 800 (2:32.39), 100 MH (15.51), 400 MH (1:02.57), High Jump (4-9.5), Long Jump (16-1), Javelin (97-8.5), Shot Put (27-2.75), and Heptathlon (3994) in the Outdoor season. In the Indoor Season, she had PRs in the 400 (1:00.47), 800 (2:41.92), 60 MH (9.62), Long Jump (17-2), and Pentathlon (2599), and competed also in the 55 MH. She had a total of 27 top-10 finishes in events, and 16 top-5 finishes. Murdock was named 2nd Team All-American after competing in the NCAA Championships in the 400 MH, placing 15th overall. She was named USTFCCCA All-Region in 400 MH and Heptathlon. She was the SAA Champion in the 100 MH and 400 MH, and was part of the conference 3rd-place 4x400 Relay group.

SIMEON RESPRESS ('21) - ANDERSON UNIVERSITY TRACK & FIELD

Respress had a stellar season, setting the Anderson high jump record in the South Atlantic Conference Championships with a 1.96.
