Lady Indians make strides in second game of double-header

The Lady Indians lost both ends of a double-header at Union County on Friday, but took significant steps forward as a first-year varsity program.

TFS lost the opener 15–0. That consisted of being no-hit for a third consecutive game. However, the girls had a phenomenal showing in the second game, a 6–2 loss.

Callie Craver kept the girls close by giving up just three runs over the first two innings. In the top of the third, the Lady Indians scored their first two runs as a varsity program.

After Charlotte Stafford notched the first-ever hit, Katie Anderson added another. Both came with two outs. Juliana Roberts then laced a double to left, driving in the first run, scored by Stafford. Anderson stole home moments later to cut the deficit to 3–2.

Union would add to the lead and close out the game with a 6–2 victory. The second game also featured the Lady Indians keeping the opponent scoreless for two whole frames. TFS is now 0–4 on the season.
