MS tennis splits in home opener against Habersham
The MS tennis teams, playing for a second straight day, took a split against Habersham in their home-opening contests on Tuesday. The Indians took a 3-2 win, while the Lady Indians dropped a 5-0 final.
"Our boys really fought hard in the heat," says coach Anthony Cox. "The singles were all really tight matches, and Elijah [Pinney] was able to pull through. And our doubles combos were really solid."
The girls were close in a couple lines, but couldn't not a set.
"Our girls battled but couldn't overcome in any of the lines," adds Cox. "It was a good learning experience against a veteran Habersham team.
The Indians are now 2-0 and the Lady Indians are 1-1 on the season.
