Indians of the Month: April 2024

TFS has named the Indians of the Week for the month of April. This month's selections are Azaria Junaid and Caden Walker for high school, and Ca'Rin Swinton and AJ Dills for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE MONTH

Azaria Junaid - Tennis

Azaria has been dominant on the court in April. In three matches, two in the region tournament and one in the Sweet 16, Azaria was 3-0 at the 3-singles position. Even more impressive is that she only lost a total of three games during that span of three tournament matches. She has worked hard to improve her mobility, and her approach to the game and practice has evolved. She is a friend to anyone, but she is also willing to be honest with others even when it is difficult. Azaria is also very dedicated in the classroom. She is a tremendous representative of TFS and our tennis program. As just a sophomore, the future is very bright for Azaria. -coach Anthony Cox

Caden Walker - Baseball

What more can I say about this young man? An incredible student, leader, and baseball player. So proud of his growth on and off the field these last three years. He puts it all on the line for his team every day and they love him for it. He also recently achieved his lifelong dream of earning a baseball scholarship to D2 Union University in Jackson, TN. -coach Justin Pollock

Ca'Rin Swinton - Track & Field

Ca'Rin Swinton won the 100m, 200m, 100mh, and 300mh at the Tri State Track & Field Championships, earning High Point Award honors and helping her team narrow the vast point spread from earlier meets to within seven points of the championship banner. When seeking a way to score more points, she offered to run the longer hurdle race. In victory, she ran the second fastest TFS female middle school time in the event to rank under former state high school hurdle champion and Davidson College record holder Anna Davis. Ca'Rin showed poise and humility throughout. -coach Scott Neal

AJ Dills - Track & Field

Eighth-grader AJ Dills has been the top performer for middle school boys track & field all season! He moved from sprinting last year to distance events this season, and the switch has been incredible. He recently won the 800m and 1600m at the Tri State Championships with a team first mentality. His personal bests include 2:29.34 in the 800, 5:31.20 in the four lapper, and 13:11.20 in the 3200m. AJ learned so much this season in pursuit to become the next legend in TFS distance history. -coach Scott Neal
