Indians of the Week: May 6-11
TFS has named the Indians of the Week for the week of May 6-11. This week's selections are Jace Ibemere and Sam Ketch for the high school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK
Jace Ibemere - Track & Field
Junior Jace Ibemere, a three time state track & field qualifier in the triple jump and relays, placed seventh in the TJ and ran the second leg of the 10th place 400m relay, 8th place scoring 800m relay, and even subbed in at the last minute in the 10th place 4x4 relay at the State Track & Field Championships in Rome, GA. Jace is a student of her events, has been working on her own since August, and relates so well with her teammates. -coach Scott Neal
Sam Ketch - Track & Field
Senior Davidson College signee and team captain Sam Ketch threw 162-10 to be the Class A State Runner-Up while having the 12th best throw among all eight GHSA classifications over championship weekend, as well as the best throws from the GIAA and GAPPS state meets held two weeks earlier. Four of Sam’s six discus throws were better than his 2023 school record state heave of 151-6. Junior Ade Akisanya set his personal best platter toss with a 138-4 landing to place sixth to score three points and walk away smiling, moving up to #4 on the Legacy List. -coach Scott Neal
