TFS basketball players compete in All-State game in Rome
Rising freshmen Payton McEntire and Brantley Addison, along with rising 7th-grader Lily Denard, were chosen by their coaches to participate in an All-State basketball camp in Rome, GA last week.
The 3-day camp allowed them to showcase their basketball skills in front of other coaches at the college level, along with other fellow top athletes in the state.
The All-State Game celebrates 20 years this year, with Executive Director, Matt Williams, hosting its youth camp for the first time in Georgia. They are known for recognizing the accomplishments of youth through annual camps and showcase games.
The first two days involved a full day from 9 AM until 4:30 PM filled with McEntire, Addison, and Denard participating in workouts, skills showcase, drills, and practices. On the third and final day, the three TFS students played in the GA All-State Game. Addison’s and Denard’s teams finished in 1st place, while McEntire’s finished in 2nd, losing by only two points.
These three TFS athletes represented their school very well, exhibiting all the T12 characteristics they have learned through their time at the middle school.
