TFS has named the Indians of the Week for the week of September 23-28. This week's selections are Margalida Amengual Sanchez and Gavin Simmons for high school, and Emma Whisnant and Zach Bonner for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK
Margalida Amengual Sanchez - Volleyball
Margalida has added so much to the Lady Indians Volleyball Program all year. Her skill, sacrifice, and determination have been instrumental to this season's success. This week, she gave everything she had to get to every ball to deliver some amazing sets. Her excellent offensive and defensive skills led us to take down the reigning state champs in three sets. -coach Matt Heyl
Gavin Simmons - Cross Country
Sophomore Gavin Simmons ran miles and miles over the summer, focused on a season of significance. Each day he comes to practice determined to improve and to add to the culture of the team. A history buff and hat collector, Gavin spreads his love of the outdoors to the team. He values being a listening friend and contributing to the life of the team at all times. -coach Scott Neal
Emma Whisnant - Volleyball
Emma stepped up her game in the second half of the season leading TFS MS volleyball to place first in regular season and win the end of season tournament championship. Emma's jump float serving and tough spikes from the right side lifted TFS over Elbert County to win the end of season tournament.
Zach Bonner - Cross Country
Zach Bonner ran over a 20-second PR in the Towns Country Tri-State meet with a time of 15:36.87. Zach has been grinding in practice and this new PR was expected! Looking forward to Zach to continue to lower his time during our Unicoi and Tri-State championship meets this week. -coach Ty Cox
