TFS has named the Indians of the Week for the month of September. This month's selections are Juliana Roberts and Timothy Beck for the high school, and Ruby Sue Anderson/Tae Hong and Elijah Pinney for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE MONTH
Juliana Roberts - Softball
Juliana Roberts has been a consistent hitter this season and really shown growth as a catcher. Her batting average is .333 and her OBP is .412. She has 3 doubles and 1 triple so far this season. She works hard, has a great attitude, and is coachable. I think she has a ton of potential and can't wait to see what she does in the future. -coach Jenny Long
Timothy Beck - Cross Country
Senior seven year TFS harrier Timothy Beck is a unique team member in so many ways. Whether off-season or late night running, checking in with his teammates often, holding others accountable, truly enjoying full moons and other outdoor wanderings, or sacrificing personal time to spend with a senior buddy - he is an exceptional role model of this - Timothy epitomizes our model of GREAT character and has chosen a life of service. In addition, he ran his PR at the last race. He is one of the most grateful and respectful young men I have ever coached! -coach Scott Neal
Ruby Sue Anderson/Tae Hong - Tennis
Ruby Sue Anderson and Tae Hong combined to go 4-1 in the month of September to close out the regular season. Then each with different doubles partners won their lines in the first round playoff match. These two have been a positive and energetic force for the team. They work really hard, communicate well, and always strive to improve. They ask questions to learn and have improved by leaps and bounds through the course of the season. They show their teammates what it means to encourage others and compete on the court. -coach Anthony Cox
Elijah Pinney - Tennis
Elijah has played the top spot in the lineup all season, and in the month of September he has been the leader the boys team needed. He went 5-0 in the month of September to close out the season. Elijah always does what is expected in a calm manner with incredible focus. Playing in the #1 singles position in the lineup is an extremely difficult task filled with a unique pressure and always the best competition. Elijah has handled it with poise and a tremendous attitude. He makes his coaches and his teammates proud and sets an example for the young players to emulate. -coach Anthony Cox
