Precision Rifle team honored with National Championship night celebration
On Friday, December 13, the Tallulah Falls Precision Rifle team, which won a National Championship in July, was honored with a special ceremony as well as between the varsity basketball games against Lakeview Academy.
The team first had a special ceremony in their rifle range, where Athletic Director Scott Neal, President and Head of School Dr. Larry A. Peevy, and coaches Tim and Kerry Stamey all shared a message to the members of the National Championship team from 2023-24.
Each team member was then presented with a special patch, certificate, championship shirt, and a beautiful, large and heavy National Championship ring, with the Tallulah Falls' athletics 'T' logo surrounded by a sea of TFS green
The team then proceeded over to the Student Activity Center, where between the girls and boys varsity games, they were honored midcourt. Each athlete was called out to walk to center court, and with 'We Are the Champions' by Queen playing in the background, a new National Championship banner was unfurled.
The members of the championship team included: Chloe Erwin, Joseph McGahee, Leah Rogers, Brianna Walter, Marc Crotta, Kylee Loudermilk, Ethan Simmons, and Mitchell McGahee. The 2023-24 team made school history with a perfect 14-0 record in match play, an Area Championship, State Runner-Up finish, and the 2024 CMP 3 PAR Scholastic Division National Championship.
