Jelly scores twice, records two assists to lead TFS past Lakeview

The MS Indians earned a 4-1 win at home Monday against Lakeview Academy in the first game of the season.

After going down 1-0 midway through the first half, Tallulah Falls refused to quit and stormed back to take a lead before the break. Alex Jelly scored a pair of goals, as Jackson Crumley and Avery Chatman added one apiece. Jelly had two assists as well. Lucas Woodland saved four shots in goal in a complete team effort.

"I'm very proud of the boys' resolve to overcome a deficit in the first half," says coach Travis Mullis. "Lakeview was a solid team. Very happy with the way TFS did it - lots of positive possession, involving all of our players. Great goalkeeping! A point of pride was when the ball started with a throw-in in our half, connecting passes across our back line with a touch from a midfielder, up the opposite side to our winger who crossed to the middle for a finish. It was textbook. Though all 22 boys didn’t receive equal minutes, I was glad they all saw time in competition. Each one was able to represent their family and make them proud."

TFS is 1-0 to start the season and returns to action March 6 at home against Lumpkin County.
