Five runners earn All-Region status
For their efforts this fall, five Tallulah Falls runners earned All-Region honors by GIAA Region 4-AAA. The announcement comes at the conclusion of the regular season and ahead of the GIAA State Championship meet.
The Lady Indians had sophomores Olivia Henderson and Avery Keim earn the distinction. Henderson, who's PR of 21:39 was set recently at the Pickens and Grinnin' Invitational, placed 4th at the Region Championships, improving on her 9th-place finish in 2023. Keim meanwhile posted her PR of 22:07 at the North Georgia XC Invitational, and came in 8th at the region meet (and was 7th a year ago).
The trio of sophomore Teagan Penland, senior Timothy Beck, and freshman Avery Chatman represented the Indians. Penland has been the team's top runner all season, notching a PR this year at the North Georgia XC Invitational with a 16:27. He came in as the Region Runner-Up, and has six top-5 finishes this season.
Beck also set his PR this year of 17:39 at the North Georgia XC Invitational, and was 5th at the Region Championships, while recording four top-10 finishes. Finally, Chatman (PR of 18:53 at North Georgia XC Inv) came in 10th at the Region Championships and have four top-20 runs.
